Hi I am not coming out as an atheist I just wanted to say to those of you who are don’t stay hidden get your message out there and the term non-believer is not the best idea the best idea for website supporting atheism.

I think there only 2 options in the hard times we are living for nt to be mediocres: believe or not believe…if i believe…I’m supoused to know what I believe…to use reazon because the faith is razonable..to read and inform myeself from the real sources of my faith. and then..to try lo live as I think because is the aim is noble, it woth to get it inspite the “thorns” in the road…if thefaith is not accompanied by the “way of living” it tends to dissapear …

Hey, there are plenty of us middle-aged and older atheists out here who are not “out” for fear it could threaten our careers, social lives, and family relationships. We all went through the de-Christianization period alone. And it wasn’t easy.

I am very glad that there are websites now where people of like minds can connect and that people are getting together in real life as well. I think there are more atheists out there than even these polls show. We just need to find each other so we are less fearful of making ourselves known.

I am a believer, but really saw this coming with the strident demagoguery of the religious right. My faith has sustained me through their imperialism and extremism.

The “friendlyatheist.com” link doesn’t work. The text is correct, but the actual link misspells atheist as “athiest”.

Freedom of consciousness? Or freedom of conscience? These are different things, and I think either the FFRF or the author misspoke
