A community's rock: El Valor is much more than a daycare as children from several Chicago neighborhoods -- and their parents -- rely on it for learning and life skills.
Unpacking a school lunch: The program's original mission was to put food in students' bellies to help them learn. Now the program works to put the right food in those bellies.
Far from home/Migrants from the Rio Grande Valley travel to cornfields -- and classrooms -- in Illinois. After a hard and long day toiling in fields, many children end their days taking classes that help them keep up with their peers back in Texas.
